Meet the Sticky Nightshade: the plant thats 10% flower and 90% attitude. Native to South America but currently invading South Africa (and it didnt even ask for a visa), this plant protects its tomato-like fruit with a suit of thorny armor. Its the perfect inspiration for something beautiful, dangerous, and a little bit hungry. Its scientific name is Solanum sisymbriifolium, but dont let the Latin fool you into thinking its refined. Solanum links it to the Nightshade family the same lineage as the deadly belladonna while sisymbriifolium simply means leaves like a watercress. Its a botanical contradiction: a delicate, star-shaped bloom hiding behind a literal suit of golden armor.
